The Breed Clubs' Codes of Ethics provide "best practice" guidance to breeders.

Health issues

​

This section has information on the following breed health conditions and issues:

​

• PRA crd3 - a heritable eye condition

• Eye testing - the importance of monitoring breeding stock

• PCDU - a complex heritable condition affecting the front legs

• DM - a life-limiting neurological disease

• Skin problems - a widespread issue in the breed

• Popular sires - detrimental to the future wellbeing of the Glen
