Alison has had Glens in the family since 1998. She has exhibited all her Glens, and was awarded Best of Breed at Crufts in 2003. She bred just one litter of six puppies, in 2011, under the 'Bregorrey' affix. Tamar, the puppy that Alison kept from this litter sadly passed away in January 2026, aged 14 years.
Alison and her husband, David, have visited the USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Finland and Sweden to meet fellow Glen enthusiasts and to attend shows and Glen events. The Glens always stayed behind in the UK, usually with their son left in charge!
Alison has been active in the Glen community, supporting breed club events, writing "Breed Notes" in the weekly newspaper "Our Dogs" and also editing one of the breed club newsletters. She has judged Glens in England and Finland. Alison gave presentations on the Glen DNA archive at the "International Glen Health Seminar" (2014) and degenerative myelopathy at the "Breeding and health: Current state and future challenges" (2025), hosted by the Finnish breed club in Helsinki, Finland.
Alison's passion is Glen health. She set up the international Glen DNA archive in 2013 and the following year, she undertook a worldwide Glen health survey, after being elected health coordinator for one of the UK breed clubs. She compiled the 'Letter to new owners', which was sent out annually by the Kennel Club to new puppy owners, during her tenure as health coordinator.
